About Us

The mission of the Wake County Public School System ESL Program is to teach identified Limited English Proficient (LEP) Students utilizing the English Language Development Standard Course of Study (ELD) to develop English proficiency so they can gain full access to the NC Standard Course of Study, graduate with a diploma, and participate fully in American society
The Office of English as a Second Language (ESL) provides support to ESL teachers and staff who directly serve LEP students.  In addition the ESL program provides support and staff development for any Wake County Public School staff member, as well as community organizations.
