About Us

Science instruction at the middle school level is built on the concepts and skills acquired in prior middle school years and elementary school.  Learners will study North Carolina’s integrated science curriculum that focuses on the National Science Education Standards:  Systems, Order, and Organization; Evidence, Models, and Explanation; Constancy, Change, and Measurement; Evolution and Equilibrium; and Form and Function.  Relevant topics will be covered including North Carolina examples, real life situations, and economical and ethic issues.  This integrated study will incorporate the following strands: The Nature of Science, Science as Inquiry, Science and Technology, Science in Personal and Social Perspectives. The goal of this program is to provide a rigorous science background to all learners.
