About Us

Title I provides federal funding to ensure that all children have the opportunity to meet the challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.  Funding is based upon the number of low-income students in a school, generally those eligible for the free or reduced lunch program.  Services may include small group instruction, tutoring, parent involvement activities, professional development, purchase of materials and supplies, prekindergarten programs and the hiring of teachers, teacher assistants, and others.  Currently all but five of the Wake County Title I schools operate as Targeted Assistance Programs.
