Dr. Adelphos John (Del) Burns began his career with the Wake County Public School System in 1976 as an LD Resource Teacher at Aldert Root Elementary School. Superintendent's Strategy Team
Six area superintendents provide regional leadership to Wake County's 152 schools. They are accountable for the performance, effectiveness and safety of the schools they serve in their regions. As our student population continues to grow throughout the county, the schools assigned to a given area superintendent will change. The area superintendents are:
